A day trip to Bodrum TOWN

On our third day in Güvercinlik, we finally followed through on our original plan: a day trip to Bodrum. This charming port town lies in Turkey’s southwestern Aegean region, about 780 km—or a 12-hour drive—south of Istanbul. Luckily for us, the weather was beautiful.

After breakfast and some much-needed laundry (always a win when you’ve got a washing machine!), we hopped on the resort shuttle to the main pool area, then made our way to the public bus stop.

Arriving in Style...(?)

A short ride later, we arrived in Bodrum—a slightly touristy but lovely town with a laid-back vibe.

Lots of cats.. which is always a good sign... :-)

Our first stop was the ferry office to book our tickets to Kos for May 7th, which was actually the main reason for this visit. Mission accomplished!

Boats everywhere

With that sorted, we found a waterfront restaurant for lunch and enjoyed a delicious meal—paired with some wine, of course.

Afterwards, we strolled through the town before catching the 4 p.m. bus back to the resort.

...and of course, stopping for some ice cream!

On the way, we stopped at the supermarket to pick up a few groceries. For dinner, we cooked at home and ate out on the terrace. A friendly cat wandered over and kept us company—a sweet ending to a relaxing and successful day!
