Preparation: 5 Months to go - Visa and Vaccinations

Visas and Vaccinations

Visas

Part of the joy of international travel is the visa requirements for many countries.

As our planning has started to firm up, we've researched the visas required to the various countries we have on our list.

Of course, since we are citizens of two different countries, the requirements are not always the same for both of us..

The wikipedia articles on visa requirements (for Japanese and Norwegian citizens) have been useful.

Check out our post on obtaining the India Visa

Vaccinations

Given that we're going to many developing countries and/or countries where some nasty diseases are prevalent, we need to update our vaccinations.

The Lonely Planet site has been a great source of information about this.
For example, the health section for India lists the recommended vaccinations for that country.

Similarly for other countries they write about.

Hint: thanks to their site being intelligently laid out, you can usually just substitute whatever country in place of 'india' in that link.

>> Vaccines Comparison (Japan vs. Thailand)

We've reviewed, and compared costs and are only getting the rabies vaccine before we go.
Other vaccines will be had in Bangkok, at the Red Cross clinic there, as most of them are much cheaper there.
